If you are working on a project around the house (think building furniture, creating something unique, etc.), you want it to look good when you're done. Foam sanding blocks are great for achieving that well defined look! These are soft and squishy blocks that are great for flattening surfaces. They will get rid of rough patches and help make your job look nice and polished, something to be proud of.
Try to use normal sandpaper? That can be a bit hard to hang on to! At times, the sandpaper is so small beneath your fingers that it is quite a task to get it working properly. Foam sanding blocks are easier to hold onto and grip, making your projects more fun and less frustrating. It is their reusability in various DIY projects that makes them your best friends.
Choosing the Right Grit
When we say “grit,” we are talking about how abrasive that sanding block is. If the grit number is larger, the surface is smoother. For example, if you are working with an area that is really rough and needs tons of smoothing, then you will want to start with a lower grit number (for example 100). This will help smooth out the rough edges. If you have a smooth area and just want it to look a little better, you could use a higher grit number, such as 400. This adds that final touch to smooth it out.
Sanding blocks are beneficial, for sure, but foam sanders have many advantages over standard sandpaper. First of all, they are easier to grip, thus making them more comfortable to work with. Second, they are more lenient on your project. When you want the surface of something to be nice and smooth for looks, regular sandpaper may the leaving scratch marks on surfaces which you do not need. You cannot must love how foam sanding blocks leave a smooth and even finish. The Aimchamp Sanding Belt are also great for working in tight spaces and curves that normal sandpaper can’t access.
Once you have sanded down your surfaces, clean up using a vacuum or a damp cloth to pick up the dust or bits of debris leftover. Tip #1: Keep your area clean! You may be wondering, why is it so necessary with Aimchamp Products?
If you want an extra smooth surface, you could wet sand. That means you get the foam block wet in a little water before you begin sanding. Aimchamp Ultrafine abrasive foam disc is useful to achieve a much better finish.
